I know that it is hard to believe but we are nearly at the shortest day of the year!
Our current show ‘Post Midden’ is generating a lot of interest we have had the pleasure of lots of visitor’s calling in to view the exhibition and the responses have been intriguing. The show is marvelous and exceptionally playful certainly thought provoking and at points very very witty satirical and colourful. A big shout out from the Vivian team to the legendary Louis Perry who is a big fan of the artists in this show and has shown her support by introducing three different art groups to the exhibition. Brilliant thanks Louis.
The opening was magic with a large number of people arriving early to hear the three artist talking about there work and the unique ideas that have driven the making. The show closes on Sunday the 3rd of July so plenty of time to drop by warm your self up by the fire and wonder at the creativity and imagination inherent in this exhibition
Upcoming exhibition Black Heart
Opens on Saturday 9th July -7th August
Pop a note in your diary or on to your phone this will be a must not be missed show! The very notable artist Reuben Paterson who is known primarily for his large-scale glitter paintings will be sharing the gallery with Lonnie Hutchinson and Wal Foote.
Hutchinson practice is broad she has worked in a range of artistic media, including film, performance, painting, sculpture and installation art including significant public commissions. She frequently draws upon feminism, historical narratives and her Māori and Pacific Island heritage to inform her work.
Wal Foote works with glass and light creating colourful prisms we cannot wait to see what he will bring to the gallery.
That’s it from me this time around.
